The DuraFlex SW (stainless wrap) series uses a 5/8-inch mounting collar depth, while the DuraFlex Pro and DuraFlex HT (high-temperature) lines require a deeper 7/8-inch collar to seat properly over the flue termination. You will find the series designation stamped on the exposed band of the existing cap, or on the liner tag visible from the firebox with a flashlight.

We carry both OEM DuraFlex caps and professional-grade aftermarket equivalents from Gelco and Olympia Chimney that meet the same 304 stainless or 316Ti alloy spec. • Water staining on the firebox walls or smoke shelf. The cap’s mesh screen has separated from the hood, or the collar has shifted off-square, letting lake-effect rain and melting snow run straight down the flue. • Draft smells or cold air dropping into the fireplace when not in use. The cap’s wind-directional hood is stuck or the internal damper has corroded open. On DuraFlex systems older than 12 years, the 304 stainless hinge pin often seizes from creosote buildup mixed with urban particulate.
